Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) and Diego Rivera (1886-1957) were married in 1929.

In 1925 Frida Kahlo was in a bus accident which left her with nearly fatal injuries requiring months of recuperation including wearing a plaster corset.

Clothing, Jewelry and Hairstyles inspired by Frida’s style of dress. She particularly liked the Tehuana dress worn by the women of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec as her mother was from this region.

This exhibit runs through August 20 2017. “Bank of America is the Presenting Sponsor for Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, making Phoenix its only North American stop on a world tour”.
