We were very impressed with our stay at this unquestionably unairport hotel -The Hyatt Regency at LA

Airport hotels are notoriously bland way stations for travelers on layovers. The Los Angeles International Airport Hyatt Regency seeks to change your opinions about airport hotels.

Originally built as a Hyatt Regency back in the 1960’s, the hotel changed hands over the years. In October 2016, this ideally situated hotel came full circle and once again flies the Hyatt Regency flag. After acquiring the hotel from the Concourse hotel chain, Hyatt Regency put $75 Million into an extensive renovation of the building and property.

For travelers staying over on a layover, the Hyatt Regency at LAX is only a five-minute shuttle ride from the airport. The Hyatt Shuttle is part of Quik Park, so your wait is never long. Park your car in the huge garage next to the Hyatt Regency LAX and take the shuttle to the airport. From the heart of Downtown LA to this newly renovated premier hotel is only 30 minutes. Frequent travelers and tourists may want to consider staying at the Hyatt Regency at Los Angeles International Airport.

The Hyatt Regency at Los Angeles International Airport has done a wonderful job in coordinating the décor of public spaces with a comforting, relaxing living space in the 580 guestrooms and suites. Half the guestrooms have a view of the runways of one of the world’s busiest airports with the other half having a street view. If you think that the constant sound of jet engines is not the best sleeping environment, don’t worry, the soundproofing and black out curtains of this hotel is extraordinary. For those who love to watch jets in action, The Hyatt Regency at Los Angeles International Airport provides the best of both worlds, the visuals of airport activity along with the quiet of a comfortable room.

The wide-open design of the lobby is beautifully accentuated with futuristic furnishings. Sharp lines with prominent stainless steel is accented with bright colors that highlight the efficient friendly check-in with plenty of interesting, comfortable seating. All public areas within the building have a unified modern design leading to completely renovated rooms that are comfortably functional and relaxing. Artwork on many of the walls are from local artists.

The newly renovated rooms include the best in bedding - the Hyatt Grand Bed, large 55” wall mounted televisions, modern lighting fixtures, WIFI, plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports, large functional reading lights, huge shower with rain shower head and extra large towels, plenty of drawer space, Starbucks or Illy coffee, tables and chairs with a silver, pewter, steel color scheme softened by dark natural wood accents and brought to life with bright, rich colored chairs and accessories in canary yellow or royal purple. The futuristic color motif accented by splashes of vibrant colors are not what a guest would expect in hotel accommodations, especially at an airport hotel. But this is an unquestionably unairport hotel.
