
The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show® is produced by the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society. First held in 1955 in an elementary school hall, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show® now occupies a large portion of the 205,000 square feet Tucson Convention Center.

Established in 1946, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society began as a small group of hobbyists who were looking to share knowledge along with fostering an appreciation for the hobby of mineral collecting and lapidary. As the society continued its growth throughout the decades, its membership grew exponentially as the hobby of gem, mineral collecting and lapidary began to surge. The stated mission of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society now reads, “To encourage interest and study in geology, mineralogy, lapidary, and allied earth sciences.”










The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society fulfills its mission with Society Events, Educational Classes, Field Trips which hunt for minerals in the Arizona desert, along with the support of local Mineral Museum Collections. The Society plays a pivotal role in supporting the promotion of mineral knowledge.

For visitors to the 2019 Tucson Show, the organizing Committee has announced that it is expecting more than 250 retail dealers to be displaying their wares for sale throughout the Exhibition Hall and Arena areas. As a gem and mineral shopper, whether a novice or one who is immersed in the hobby, these retail dealers offer a variety of minerals, fossils, jewelry, lapidary crafts and publications that could only be found through extensive searching. The Society and the Show Committee, honoring their commitment to expanding knowledge and education invite approximately 3,000 Arizona School Children to attend The Show free of charge with their teachers and chaperones. This is a special opportunity for students to shop the dealers and view the exhibits.
Lectures and seminars are held on the Thursday to Saturday throughout the show, check schedule of events when you buy your tickets for the spectacular Tucson Gem and Mineral Show®, which is the most comprehensive and largest in the world.
