We had a fabulous private tour through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve with Platinum Heritage tours. The reserve was established in 1999.
Our guide Hosam deflated the tires on our luxury Range Rover and off we went into the desert. Along the way we learned about the medicinal qualities of the different plants growing in the desert and how to identify animal tracks. There were plenty of Arabian Oryx, Sand Gazelles and Mountain Gazelles on the way to Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, the first 5 star resort in the desert. At Al Maha we loved exploring the resort and enjoying a gourmet breakfast.
ITINERARY
Pick up in a Ranger Rover from Dubai hotels between 7:00am-7:30am.
Arrive at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve to put on your Sheila/Ghutra (traditional headscarf). There are photo opportunities with the fleet of vintage Land Rovers.

Arrive at the famous Al Maha Resort for a full gourmet breakfast with buffet and al-la-carte options.
